Summary A high incidence of duodenal ulcers has been observed in the inbred mouse strain NZB. The ulcers bear a striking similarity to humman peptic ulcers. Although the mice develop various manifestations of autoimmune disease, the aetiology and pathogenesis of the ulcers is at present uncertain.
