Abstract Results of high pressure fluorination (300–3000 bar F 2 ) are given and discussed, e.g. fluorides of Cr IV , Mn IV , Ni IV , Cu IV , Pt IV , Pr IV , Nd IV (?), Dy IV (?) and Rh V , Au V . Newly prepared were BaNiF 6 (monoclinic, a = 9.46 5 Å, b = 4.95 0 Å, c = 6.65 5 Å, β = 103.3 O ), Cs 2‐x Rb x NiF 6 , Rb 2‐x K x NiF 6 (K 2 PtCl 6 ‐type) all carmine‐red; BaPrF 6 (RbPaF 6 ‐type, a = 8.02 7 Å, b = 11.59 3 Å, c = 5.61 7 Å), SrPrF 6 (LaF 6 ‐type, a = 7.09 0 Å, c = 7.29 0 Å), both colourless powders; Cs 2 KNdF 7 (a = 9.60 5 Å), Cs 2 KDyF 7 (a = 9.47 9 Å), both cubic, orange‐yellow powders, (NH 4 ) 3 , ZrF 7 ‐type; MnF 4 (trig., a = 19.53 Å, c = 12.59 Å), ultramarine‐blue single crystals, O + 2 [MnF 5 ] − (monoclinic, a = 17.55 Å, b = 8.43 Å, c = 9.10 Å, β = 101.8°), bright‐red single crystals, and yellow single crystals, O + 2 [AuF 6 ] − , which decomposed even under F 2 during X‐ray radiation.
