In experiment, mechanical pulse-to-pulse frequency tuning was realized in a repetitively pulsed (1 s, 50 Hz) relativistic backward-wave oscillator with a resonant reflector in a 0.36-T magnetic field. The tuning bandwidth was ~ 9% at a level of -3 dB of microwave peak power. The microwave peak power in a batch was 2.5 plusmn 0.6 GW at a frequency of ap3.6 GHz, an efficiency of 20% plusmn 4%, and a microwave pulsewidth of ~ 20 ns.
