Abstract

The results of an investigation of the various modes of flow which could be produced in the liquid during Czochralski crystal growth are presented. These indicate that effective liquid movement produced by crystal rotation is dependent upon crystal diameter and upon temperature. Such movement appears to be inhibited by any marked thermal diffusion of the liquid.
