Abstract

Abstract Lupeol acetate isolated from the petroleum ether fraction of Alstonia boonei root barks was tested for its antiarthritic effect in CFA‐induced arthritic rats. Administered orally every 48 h (66 mg/kg body weight) from days 32 to 40 postadjuvant and assessed on day 60, Iupeol acetate returned the increase in spleen weight and the reduction in serum alkaline phosphatase to nonarthritic control values.
