Abstract

Propranolol was introduced as a 0-adrenergic receptor antagonist, having about ten times the potency of pronethalol against isoprenaline (Black, Crowther, Shanks, Smith, and Dornhorst, I964) while being devoid of intrinsic sympathomimetic activity.
