SCMS: An Integrated Cluster Management Tool for Beowulf Cluster System.

Abstract

Abstract As the size of Beowulf cluster scale up to hundreds or thousands nodes, system manage-ment becomes a complex task without a proper tool. Good system management tool can reduce the opera-tion cost and improve the quality of system services substantially. SCMS (SMILE Cluster Management System) is a cluster management tool for Beowulf cluster that intended to solve the problem mentioned earlier. SCMS consists of powerful real time moni-toring system, parallel unix command, and numer-ous system administration utilities. This paper in-troduce SCMS features along with the design and implementation issues involved. SCMS is currently available freely as an opensource software on In-ternet and used by many organizations around the world.
