Cutaneous Changes in a Patient With Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Abstract

A patient who survived carbon monoxide poisoning developed necrosis of sweat glands, leukonychia, intra-epidermal and subepidermal vesicles, a bulla, and intracellular edema and occlusion of the epidermal portion of the sweat ducts. Additionally, there was evidence of acute cerebral cortical damage, acute renal tubular necrosis, hemolytic anemia, and muscle necrosis.
