Downregulation of Cytoskeletal Muscle LIM Protein by Nitric Oxide

Abstract

NO negatively controls MLP expression in cardiac myocytes. Because MLP is necessary and sufficient for hypertrophy and sarcomere assembly, MLP downregulation may restrain hypertrophic growth in pathophysiological situations with increased cardiac NO production.
