Abstract

NO interferes with chondrocyte migration and attachment to fibronectin, an extracellular matrix protein, probably via effects on the actin cytoskeleton. These effects of NO may result in impairment of cartilage repair, by interfering with the extracellular matrix regulation of chondrocyte function.
