The phenomenon of rhizogenesis in Cheiranthus cheiri var. Goliath, and rhizogenesis and embryogenesis in C. cheiri var. Clott of Gold were observed. Both forms of differentiation developed when cultures grown on agar medium were transferred to a liquid medium containing 0.1 ppm of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid. Pale yellow organized callus tissues of both Cheiranthus varieties gave rise to endogenous roots, whereas green organized callus tissue of C. cheiri var. Clott of Gold formed both embryoids and plantlets.
