A Neutral Group 4 Poly(methyl methacrylate) Catalyst Derived from <i>o</i>-Carborane

Abstract

rac-Zr(η5:η1-CpCMe2CB10H10C)2, prepared from the reaction of the dilithium salt of the new isopropyl-bridged cyclopentadienyl o-carboranyl ligand CpHCMe2CB10H10CH with ZrCl4, catalyzes the formation of syndiotactic poly(methyl methacrylate) in THF in the absence of any alkylating reagent or cationic center generator.
