Clonidine Suppresses Plasma and Cerebrospinal Fluid Concentrations of TNF-α During the Perioperative Period

Abstract

Preoperative administration of clonidine decreases both plasma and cerebrospinal fluid concentrations of inflammatory cytokines, resulting in perioperative analgesia and decreased sympathetic tone.
