Abstract

Abstract The UV-irradiation of some alcohols in the presence of titanium(lV) chloride gave products with a C–C bond formation between alcohol molecules. The titanium(iv) chloride-catalyzed photoreaction of formic esters in alcohols induced the formylation of alcohol at the α-position.
