Abstract

New Fused Nitrogen‐Rich Heterocycles from 5,6‐Dichloropyrazine‐2,3‐dicarbonitrile In the easily accessible 5,6‐dichloropyrazine‐2,3‐dicarbonitrile ( 1 ) the chlorine atoms can be readily exchanged by amines yielding the new pyrazinedicarbonitriles 2 – 5 , which upon treatment with hydrazine hydrate form the nitrogen‐rich heterocycles 6 – 9 .
