Abstract A functional group compatible palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction between aryllithiums and aryl halides mediated by a five-membered cyclic silyl ether as a precursor for an activated arylsilane has been developed. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions without the addition of a fluoride salt or a base to activate the silyl reagent.
