Insoluble starch xanthate: Use in heavy metal removal

Abstract

Abstract Water‐insoluble starch xanthates were prepared by xanthation of highly crosslinked starches under various conditions. After isolation of the products by solvent dehydration, freeze drying, or spray drying, their properties were determined. These products were very effective in removing heavy metals from water.
