The LU-AD1 factorization algorithm for the Navier-Stokes computations has been developed by using the diagonally dominant Lu factorization. The space variable time stepping technique is also implemented to the code. A new dissipation model using a flux limiter coupled with a central difference scheme is proposed and successfully applied to prevent spikes at the shock wave. Effects of grid distributions are investigated to evaluate the reliability of Navier-Stokes solutions. The result revealed that enough grid distributions are needed both to represent the body geometry and to resolve the flow field. The importance of the orthogonality of the grids at the body surface was also revealed. A new algebraic grid generation technique was used for the grid systems of the present computations.
