The Nakhla and Lafayette meteorites are pyroxenite cumulates that show no simple relation to chondrites, basaltic achondrites, or lunar rocks. They present evidence of magmatic activity occurring on a highly differentiated parent body relatively late in the history of the solar system similar in some respects to the Earth.
