Abstract

Polythiocarbamatozinc(II) complexes such as 1, which were suggested as early as 1921, have always defied science. Now density functional calculations and laser-desorption ionization mass spectrometry provide proof for the existence of these inferred catalysts for sulfur vulcanization.
