Synthesis of Borirenes by Photochemical Borylene Transfer from [(OC)₅MBN(SiMe₃)₂] (M=Cr, Mo) to Alkynes

Abstract

Light movements: Irradiation of terminal borylene complexes [(OC)5MBN(SiMe3)2] (M=Cr, Mo) at room temperature in the presence of alkynes allows access to various substituted borirenes—an unprecedented borylene transfer to main-group-element substrates (see scheme; B red, C white, N blue, Si yellow).
