Metabolism of C14-dieldrin by dieldrin-resistant female adult C. p. quinquefasciatus Say has been investigated. Dieldrin is readily absorbed and is metabolized. Using paper chromatographic techniques to resolve dieldrin and metabolite, it has been found that the metabolite is excreted without storage in the body. The metabolite is more polar than dieldrin and was found to have an Rf value close to that of aldrin glycol.
