Abstract Shuanghe oilfield is characterized by high temperature, serious heterogeneity and thick reservoir. This paper firstly describes the fine characterization techniques of thick reservoir, including geologic features, microfacies of sedimentation, heterogeneity and hydrodynamic unit analysis, and then introduces the study of thermal-oxidative stability of polymers by adding stabilizers. Finally it summarizes the optimized design and effectiveness of high-temperature (72 C) polymer flooding pilot test in layer II 5, Shuanghe oilfield, where oil recovery is increased by 10.4%. P. 533
