Abstract

It was experimentally verified that the phase difference of two Belousov–Zhabotinskii chemical systems is locked when Δω/M is smaller than a critical value, where Δω is the difference of the natural limit cycle frequencies and M is the coupling constant of the two chemical systems. Above the critical value, the systems behave almost independently. A simple model is presented to explain the observed phenomena.
