Phosphodiesterase inhibition by naloxone augments the inotropic actions of β‐adrenergic stimulation

Abstract

The enhancement of myocardial contractility by naloxone in the presence of stimulation of adenylyl cyclase activity appears to be mediated by inhibition of PDE, specifically PDE III.
