A case of cutaneous alternariosis with superinfection ofCandida albicans, treated successfully with natamycin, is reported, and six cases of alternariosis from the literature are reviewed.Alternariaorganisms have long been recognized as nonpathogenic for man. However,Alternariais capable of growing in the keratin and can occasionally serve as a human pathogen. Alternariosis is characterized by crusted ulcerated lesions in exposed areas.
