Spectral representation for the polarizability of a collection of dielectric spheres

Abstract

The spectral representation, which gives the dipole strengths and depolarization factors of the collective surface modes, is determined for an arbitrary collection of dielectric spheres. Average depolarization factors are calculated for a line of unequal spheres.
