Tunable chirping of a fibre Bragg grating usingatapered cantilever beam

Abstract

Continuously adjustable chirp of an optical fibre Bragg grating was produced by straining the fibre using a cantilever beam of nonuniform cross-section. A uniform shift in wavelength is also produced which can be eliminated by temperature control.
