We report the first confirmed case of Weeksella virosa pneumonia and sepsis in an immunocompromised patient. As demonstrated by this patient's culture results, this bacterium appears sensitive to many β-lactams but resistant to aminoglycosides. The organism may be mistaken for Klebsiella due to its mucoid nature and may be underreported. Other literature reported cases of W. virosa peritonitis are reviewed and discussed in the context of the current case.
