Ten stutterers and ten nonstutterers read ’’The Rainbow Passage.’’ Intervocalic voiceless stop consonant segments were selected and displayed on wide-band spectrograms. Results of VOT measurements obtained indicated that (1) the stutterers displayed longer VOT values than the nonstutterers, and (2) VOT values increased in duration as place of articulation moved back in the oral cavity.
