Abstract

Since particles receive the velocity behind moving cosmic strings, wakes are formed from dark matter and baryonic matter. These wakes will fragment into the first systems of mass M "" 107( GIL /lO-6)'(P's,Yst)"(1+zi )1.5/(1+zJ)"M o , where Zi,ZJ,Il,P's' and YSI are the epoch the cosmic string tra verses, the epoch the fragmentation occurs, the line density, the velocity of the strings and Ysl = (1-P'~I) -1/2 in units of c = 1.
