The life cycle of Stephanostomum baccatum includes an ophthalmoxiphidiocercous cercaria, lacking a penetration stylet, which develops in Buccinum undatum and Neptunea decumcostatum. The metacercaria is found in the skin and somatic muscles of pleuronectid fishes, and the adult occurs in the rectum of Hemitripterus americanus. A description is given of all stages.
