The electromagnetic properties of media such that D = εΕ+ξΗ, B = ζΕ+μΗ are discussed. It is shown that each field component obeys the equation ∇2F+iω(ζ-ξ)∇×F+ω2(με-ζξ)F=0 and that such media are accordingly doubly refracting. Integral forms for Maxwell's equations are also discussed.
