Patterns of gastric atrophy in intestinal type gastric carcinoma

Abstract

Contrary to popular belief, atrophy in intestinal type gastric carcinoma is not present as independent foci, but rather as a continuous sheet. Previous studies failed to identify pseudo-pylori metaplasia as a marker for atrophy.
