A Monte Carlo solution of a two-dimensional unstructured cluster problem

Abstract

A Monte Carlo technique is used to evaluate the expected size of cluster in a two dimensional Poisson ensemble. This expected size is a function of one parameter. An estimate of the critical value of this parameter at which the expected cluster size becomes infinite is obtained by extrapolation.
