Intraepidermal Neutrophilic IgA Dermatosis

Abstract

IN patients with certain blistering skin diseases that are considered to be immunologically mediated, deposits of immunoreactants occur at the microscopical sites of blister formation and are thought to be central to the pathogenesis of the diseases.1 2 3 4 5 6 In this report, we describe a case of an intraepidermal vesicular disease characterized by IgA deposits and collections of neutrophils within the epidermis. Because the manifestations of the disease were unlike those in blistering dermatoses described earlier, we propose that this case represents a unique disorder and that its pathogenesis is related to the unusual intraepidermal deposition of IgA.Case ReportIn January . . .
