Using a copper conductor externally strengthened with stainless steel, coils have been made which produce pulsed magnetic fields of up to 52 T over approximately 10 ms. The construction and performances of these coils are described as well as proposals for increasing the maximum field to 60 T.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
