Abstract

Zenker's diverticulum is a relatively infrequent malformation of the upper esophagus. It can accumulate salivary and sinusal secretions. When I-131 whole body imaging is performed during the follow-up of thyroid carcinoma, this accumulation may result in a cervical hot spot suggesting a thyroidal remnant.
