Distal myopathy with rimmed vacuoles is allelic to hereditary inclusion body myopathy

Abstract

DMRV is allelic to HIBM. Various mutations are associated with DMRV in Japan. The loss-of-function mutations in the GNE gene appear to cause DMRV/HIBM.
