The discovery of a new nematode-trapping hyphomycete producing ameroconidia but clearly assignable to the otherwise didymoconidial form-genus Arthrobotrys leads to a reevaluation of generic concepts in Arthrobotrys Corda and Dactylaria Sacc. The nematode-trapping species of Dactylaria are transferred to Arthrobotrys.
