Preparation and Some Reactions of Dibenzo-7-silanorbornadiene Derivatives

Abstract

Abstract On irradiation, dibenzo-7-silanorbornadienes with bulky substituents on silicon generated the corresponding crowded silylenes that dimerized to kinetically stable disilenes in the absence of trapping agents. Dibenzo-7-silanorbornadienes also underwent a new type of photochemical isomerization competitively.
