Strain TK-6 is\an extremely thermophilic hydrogen bacterium isolated by the authors from a hot spring.1} The strain is an obligate chemolithotroph while all of the other hydrogen bacreria knownto date are facultative chemolithotrophs. So we studied the quinone system of TK-6, which is very useful for classifying this bacterium.
