Abstract

Renal cysts from patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease can secrete fluid, and net fluid secretion can be increased by unidentified secretagogues in the cyst fluid. These results suggest that the process of cyst enlargement may be susceptible to pharmacologic intervention.
