Abstract

Abstract Recent studies deomonstrated that cyclophosphamide given in doses that frequently induce leukopenia slows the progression of rheumatoid arthritis. Since the hazards of cyclophosphamide therapy would be less if smaller doses were effective, a double‐blind study using 0.87 to 1 mg/kg/day for 1 year was carried out. No benefit from cyclophosphamide therapy was observed.
