Gold−Titania Core−Shell Nanoparticles by Polyelectrolyte Complexation with a Titania Precursor

Abstract

Core−shell colloids comprising gold nanoparticles and a uniform titania coating were prepared by the complexation of polyelectrolyte preassembled on the core particles with titanium(IV) bis(ammonium lactato) dihydroxide (TALH) in aqueous solution, followed by hydrolysis of TALH.
