Over a period of 2 years 103,965 ticks were collected from domestic animals. H. anatolicum subspp., H. m. turanicum, R. sanguineus group and B. annulatus occurred throughout Iraq. H. a. asiaticum, H. (H.) parva, H. (H.) sulcata, O. lahorensis and R. bursa were restricted to the northern areas, while H. detritum was confined to the central and southern parts. H. dromedarii, H. schulzei, H. m. marginatum and A. lepidum were also recovered.
