Abstract

In the current collection process of the high speed train, the traction current will cause the temperature rising between contact wire and pantograph slipper, which causes the contact surface shape change, then the friction and wear properties may be change. The authors use the high speed pantograph-catenary current collection platform to conduct experiments and measure the temperature of the pantograph slipper. In the static experiment, traction current and contact force are set up to several values, as current increasing or contact force decreasing, the temperature will rise faster; in the sliding experiment, the effect of off-line arc will be considered, compared to the static current collection, off-line arc will make the temperature problem even more serious.
