composed of predominantly follicular tissue produced increases in cAMP and concomitant decreases in cGMP. These results suggest that gonadotropins can exert divergent effects on ovarian cAMP and cGMP. The fact that both FSH and LH can alter the levels of cyclic nucleotides raises the question of whether the gonadotropins are acting on adenylate and guanylate cyclase receptors in the same cell or different cells within the ovarian compart ments.
