The conjugate load/displacement method for elastic stability analysis is applied to square plates with a range of centrally located rectangular perforation sizes and shapes, subjected to various in-plane loading conditions. Results are presented for both fully fixed and simply supported boundary conditions giving lowest buckling coefficients. The increase of buckling coefficient with the removal of material, which occurs in many cases, is explained.
