This paper has the objective to present an actualized scheme .of the distribu tion of fossil plant assemblages in the outcroping sediments of the Paran Basin (Brazil). Based 85 on this scheme some general aspects, including the problem of the Carboniferous-Perrnian boundary, are briefly discussed.
